Checkpoint Systems (NYSE: CKP  ) reported earnings on Aug. 2. Here are the numbers you need to know.

 For the quarter ended June 24 (Q2), Checkpoint Systems missed estimates on revenues and missed expectations on earnings per share.

Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue dropped and GAAP earnings per share contracted to a loss.

Margin details
 For the quarter, gross margin was 36.7%, 250 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.6%, 630 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -47.5%, 5,200 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
 Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $198.0 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.12.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $781.0 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.09.
