What happened to CompUSA (NYSE: CPU)? The computer category killer has been suffering from some self-inflicted wounds lately. However, not all Fools think the company's days are binary-numbered.

Louis Corrigan (TMF Seymor) is our bull. Paul Larson (TMF Parlay) is our bear. So boot up and log on -- this week's Duel is about to begin.

While CompUSA will eventually dictate its own fate, you get to decide who wins this week's bout with your vote. And don't forget to check our Duel Flashback where we see if GE (NYSE: GE) really does bring good Duels to life.

You Get to Vote!

Once you've read the arguments and the rebuttals, it's your time to cast your vote. We'll tabulate results each week and revisit them from time to time to see whether you were right! As always, we invite you to join us in the Dueling Fools Message board to continue the duel.

The Bull...
CompUSA faces major challenges. But the stock has gotten cheaper in the last six months even as the story has unexpectedly improved. Those comfortable with the risky business of turnaround investing might soon find CompUSA exhibiting an attractive risk/reward profile.
The Bear...
Troubled. Inefficient. Bloated. Disadvantaged. Unprofitable. These are just some of the words I would use to describe CompUSA in 1999. There's a reason the stock is trading at a fraction of its old highs, and I don't see the factors behind CompUSA's tumble abating anytime soon.
