$250,000 In Change
Each night when I come home from work, I toss any change I may have in my pockets into a wicker basket on my dresser. And every couple of months, I roll the quarters, dimes, and nickels that accumulate and put them aside.
Last week, I took a look at what I've accumulated over the past year or so and to my surprise, without even thinking about it I've rolled nearly $400.
But what to do with this free loot? Put it toward a new set of golf clubs or a tennis racket? Buy my sweetie a gift? No, I've decided that from here on out I'm going to be Foolish with it and make an extra purchase each year in my Merck Direct Investment Program.
With any luck (10-15% return/year), I can turn these couple of shekels into a quarter of a million dollars by the time I retire (in 33 years) and buy any set of clubs I want and have a little change left over.
