Ready to design your life? We deserve to choose where we want to be and how we want to live come retirement time, so let's go.

What we'll be doing
Our trip will have 4 major stops. We'll:

  1. Get set up by learning to use some tools and making the first big decisions.

  2. Figure out where all the money you'll need will come from.

  3. Examine the costs you'll encounter as a retiree.

  4. Tie up the loose ends, figure out how to handle your estate, and make sure the money lasts as long as you do.

Take the first step! Choosing when to retire is an important first step. If you can't decide, just pick a date (you can always change it later).

The big question isn't when you are going to retire, but how long you are going to live. Life expectancies are increasing, so we say it's best to err on the side of caution. Ninety-five sounds like a reasonable planning assumption, or take your grandparents' age when they died and add ten years.
