(April 26, 1999) -- I spent the weekend and Monday on the tractor. When I close my eyes at night, I see the rows of mounded dirt rolling by, watch the distant horizon, feel the air on my face, and smell the natural fertilizer. Sometimes I imagine braking fast to keep from hitting a nest of some animal. I can even hear the constant buzz of the tractor. I think the residue of its sound sticks in my head like wax would. I'm a little tired tonight. The sun was hot all day even under the hat. Irv was working the other tractor. He really burnt his neck in the sun. It's hard to imagine, but once again he didn't account for exposure there.
The S&P 500 gained 0.24%.
