On a hot July 2, 1998, the Fool Portfolio cut the thread to its Spiders (Amex: SPY) and poured itself into Starbucks (Nasdaq: SBUX). The belief is that Starbucks can beat the S&P 500 (which the Spiders mirror) over the long-term. Spiders did serve us well, though. For the numbers, please see below.
