Six months ago, as courts were pondering the fate of who had the right to use cable lines for online access, we followed suit.

In a battle in which we pitted America Online (NYSE: AOL) against Excite@Home (Nasdaq: ATHM) we took a closer look at the way open access would play out. Louis Corrigan (TMF Seymor) and Bill Barker (TMF Max) explored the possibilities.

While we're in no position to hand out a victory here -- yet -- our Voting Fools did side with Bill this time.
