Dueling Fools

January 10, 2001

Six months ago, we flicked on the "Hot Duel Now" sign and invited everyone to sample our Krispy Kreme (Nasdaq: KREM) Duel. Rick Aristotle Munarriz (TMF Edible) was our Bull. Barbara Eisner Bayer (TMF Venus) was our Bear.

Rick (seen here in doughnut form) saw great expansion ahead while Barbara (seen here in doughnut form) just saw expanding waistlines. Our Voting Fools went with their stomach and sided with Rick. Despite the rocky market that followed, Krispy Kreme emerged as a healthy stock through all of 2000.

Six months after the bout the stock had gained a little weight -- up 12%.

Victory? Rick and Dueling Fools. Congrats!

Revisit the Krispy Kreme Duel.
