Dueling Fools

July 18, 2001

Six months ago, we dialed into the future of Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ). Where was the wireless giant headed? Chris Rugaber was our Bull while Rick Aristotle Munarriz was our Bear for the bout. Our Voting Fools sided with Chris and his optimistic take.

In one of the closest Duels ever, Verizon went on to shed a little less than 1% of its market value, going from $55.50 to $55.20 in the six-month span.

Victory? Rick. Barely. Congrats!
