Q. Where can I learn more about various kinds of insurance?

A. As you might have suspected, we offer detailed information in Fooldom online, at our Insurance Center. You can get additional details at Quicken and Insure.com on lots of kinds of insurance.

You'll find another good resource in the websites of many major insurance companies. There's a host of consumer information at AIG's site, for example, if you poke around. You'll also find info at sites such as Allstate, Chubb, New York Life, State Farm, MetLife, GEICO, and the like. To find the website of any other major company, try looking it up at company information site Hoovers or via a search engine such as Google.

If you're interested in health insurance, try HIAA.org and www.ehealthinsurance.com. The latter has a good collection of answers to frequently asked questions.

Just remember where you are when you're at an insurance company's website. Realize that they're in the business of selling you as much insurance as they can. So, learn what you can from them, but don't immediately sign up for lots of policies.
