Datalink Adds Migration Packaged Offerings to Services Portfolio

Expanded Data Center Services Address Full IT Asset Lifecycle

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Datalink (Nasdaq: DTLK  ) , a leading provider of data center infrastructure and services, today announced a major expansion of its professional services portfolio with the addition of application, data, and infrastructure migration services. Complementing Datalink’s existing data center consulting, design, and assessment capabilities, the new services will assist enterprises with data center initiatives resulting from platform, application, hardware, and operating system refreshes, as well as moving from physical to virtual to cloud environments.

The new offerings will help customers minimize disruption, streamline time to production, mitigate risk, and free up internal IT teams to focus on core business functions. With years of experience within various data center environments, an understanding of key interdependencies, as well as virtual data center migration processes, Datalink delivers services that include:

  • Infrastructure migration spanning the move from physical to virtual and/or converged infrastructures, data storage, backup/data protection, and other upgrade requirements.
  • Data migration resulting from storage architecture refreshes and operating system changes, such as NetApp® Clustered ONTAP®.
  • Application migration including upgrades to Microsoft Exchange, SQL, and Active Directory, as well as changes to operating system platforms.

“After years of executing complex data center migration projects, we have built the competencies and best practices to successfully deliver the benefits as well as mitigate the risks associated with these initiatives. Our migration services ensure operational stability, a smooth transition, and free up internal IT teams to focus on core business activities,” said Shawn O’Grady, executive vice president of field operations, Datalink. “With these newly packaged services, we’ve further expanded the scope of our data center services portfolio to address the complete lifecycle of offerings from strategic planning to architectural design, implementation, migration, management and support.”
