Regal Entertainment Group Adds Luxury Amenities to a New Theatre in the Atlanta Market
Avalon is an Innovative $600 Million Mixed-Use Development
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC ) , a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theater circuit in the United States, announces luxury amenities for the new Regal Cinemas to be built in one of the most affluent trade areas in the country. Regal Avalon Stadium 12 & RPX is scheduled to open in 2014 along Georgia 400 near Atlanta.
Every seat at Regal Avalon will be a luxury recliner that includes a footrest for added comfort and a convenient table area for dining. The menu will feature restaurant-quality food and drink selections as well as traditional cinema snacks. The Avalon lobby design includes a lounge where guests can relax before or after the movie in the warmth of intimate soft-seating areas or choose table seating for more room to hold appetizers, entrées, desserts and drinks.
“Regal Avalon Stadium 12 & RPX creates a new definition of luxury entertainment for Atlanta moviegoers,” stated Robert Crane, Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Regal Entertainment Group. “Regal is building a grand new entertainment complex in the North Fulton community to match the impeccable style of the overall Avalon development.”
“Avalon will be like no other mixed-use property in the Southeast, and the luxury moviegoing experience Regal will offer is a big part of the guest experience,” stated Mark Toro, managing partner North American Properties.
Designed for adult tastes, Regal Avalon will combine the ambiance of a favorite restaurant with the latest advances in digital cinema technology for a picture-perfect trip to the movies. Guests will feel right at home, although the Avalon’s wall-to-wall screens could never fit inside even the most elaborate home theatre. The largest auditorium will be equipped for the Regal Premium Experience (RPX) delivering the ultimate in both sight and sound technology for all of the biggest films from Hollywood.
“The amenities that we are introducing reaffirm how Regal Entertainment Group is committed to excellence,” stated Ken Thewes, Chief Marketing Officer for Regal Entertainment Group. “At select locations Regal is adding expanded menus, enhanced seating and cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative dining selections, comfortable surroundings and cinematic perfection.”
Regal is well known in the Atlanta area with 14 theatres, 214 screens and hosts the most moviegoers in the market. The new Regal Cinemas in Alpharetta, GA will join other luxury theatres successfully operated by Regal in Newport Beach, CA and SouthGlenn, CO. Regal is also partnering with North American Properties this year for the grand opening of a posh addition to Regal Atlantic Station in Atlanta’s midtown, including a new lounge and luxury recliners in two new auditoriums.
