Northern Trust Recognized for Transition Management and Hedge Fund Administration

2nd Consecutive Wins in Custody Risk Americas Awards

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- For the second consecutive year, Northern Trust has been recognized for both transition management and hedge fund administration by Custody Risk magazine, which recognizes outstanding achievement in the securities services industry with its Americas Awards 2013.

“These awards for Transition Management and Hedge Fund Services demonstrate Northern Trust’s fundamental strengths in client service, expertise and an integrated global technology platform," said David W. Fox, head of Corporate & Institutional Services in the Americas for Northern Trust. "In each service, we work closely with sophisticated investors to understand their needs and implement efficient solutions across markets and regions."

Transition Management at Northern Trust leverages the trading and operations expertise of a global team to implement client asset restructures across developed and emerging markets.

"We continue to improve our transparent and client-focused approach with customized pre-trade and post-trade reports, and early risk identification and resolution throughout the transition process," said Ben Jenkins, Practice Lead, Transition Management at Northern Trust. "This award validates our strong focus on this service for institutional investors."

Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services has grown rapidly in the past two years and now serves some of the world's largest hedge funds as well as newly launched funds in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

"We are pleased to win this award, which recognizes not just our growth but our innovations in collateral management for over-the-counter derivatives, support for regulatory changes affecting fund managers, and other services," said Peter Sanchez, CEO of Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services.

The Custody Risk Americas Awards honor exceptional work in the securities services industry in North and South America. Submissions were judged by an independent panel of industry experts, who considered factors such as new business won, innovative service, client solutions, and business profile.
