Monday
We kick off the abridged trading week with UAP Holdings (NASDAQ:UAPH). The agricultural specialist is expected grow earnings by 19% to $1.32 per share in its fiscal first-quarter report. This is the company's seasonally strongest period. It's a good thing, too, since UAP has come up short in meeting profit targets in each of the three previous quarters. It needs to find some bottom-line improvement.

Tuesday
With stateside companies taking a breather heading into Wednesday's market holiday, you can keep an eye on Oce N.V. (NASDAQ:OCENY) if you're up for an earnings fix. The Dutch provider of printing and document-managing systems earned $0.17 a year ago in the same second quarter. It also earned $0.17 a share in this year's first fiscal quarter. See the trend? Now wait for the document.

Wednesday
The market is closed to celebrate Independence Day. You know what isn't closed? The corner multiplex. Maybe now would be a good chance to be one of the first to see Transformers. The film from Viacom's (NYSE:VIA) Paramount is poised to be a big winner. On the other hand, the release slate is packed with several highly anticipated blockbusters and sequels.

Thursday
Healthways
(NASDAQ:HWAY) reports on Thursday. Whether it's managing disease symptoms or keeping a healthy person in check, Healthways is a growing player in health care. Analysts expect earnings to hit $0.29 a share in its fiscal third quarter. That would be an improvement over a $0.26-per-share showing a year earlier.

Friday
You know it's a sleepy week when Friday is about as busy as Wednesday on the earnings front. It's just as well. Now would be an ideal time to head back to the multiplex to catch any of the summer hits you may have missed. Even if you think you've had your fill of ogres, pirates, and rats who aspire to be chefs, there's always some other movie worth watching.

Until next week, I remain,
