Monday
The new trading week flies in with Buffalo Wild Wings (NASDAQ:BWLD) reporting. The chicken wings chain has been able to buck the casual dining malaise in the past, with healthy foot traffic and even heartier earnings growth. Analysts expect more of the same on Monday. They see earnings climbing 29% higher to $0.31 a share. That kind of growth may seem surprising in the tattered restaurant space, but Buffalo Wild Wings has managed to meet or exceed expectations in each of its past three quarters.

Tuesday
If it's Tuesday it must be a new port to hit for Royal Caribbean (NYSE:RCL). The cruise ship operator will drop anchor long enough to go over its third-quarter results. Wall Street is braced for a drop in profitability. The real news will be the company's outlook. Are future bookings picking up or slowing down? Is the recent plunge in oil prices going to have a material near-term favorable impact? Tune in for a shot at hearing the answers.

Wednesday
Where is Garmin (NASDAQ:GRMN) heading? We'll have a clearer snapshot of the GPS giant when the company positions itself on Wednesday. Analysts see a small decrease in profitability, but with so many new gadgets and smartphone appliances coming with built-in tracking and roadmap functionality, what will it take for Garmin to grow again?

Thursday
Akamai (NASDAQ:AKAM) knows all about delivering digital content. The company is the leader in content delivery networks -- or CDN -- serving up pages and downloads faster and more securely for its who's who client list.

Akamai has had its speed bumps along the way, but analysts see earnings for its latest quarter coming in at $0.39 a share, after the company posted a profit of $0.34 a share a year ago. Bottom-line growth of 15% may be slower than what investors are used to out of Akamai, but it's more than reasonable in this iffy economic climate.

Friday
The end of the trading week is typically a quiet time, but not during earnings season. Several blue chips like oil giant Chevron (NYSE:CVX), newspaper behemoth Washington Post (NYSE:WPO), and New York Stock Exchange parent NYSE Euronext (NYSE:NYX) will deliver their quarterly numbers on Friday morning.

Until next week, I remain,
Rick Munarriz
