Three stocks you must own. Come on now. It appears to me that these are three stocks you just purchased and want to see the value increase on so you can dump them for a profit.

I always feel that the person who writes such an article has just purchased 100,000 shares and only need to see the price go up $0.25 before they will start selling to make a quick profit.

I would do the same if I had the money to pull it off. Those who get in early don't do too bad if they follow the same strategy but those who get in late are upside down in hours.

This is why I don't subscribe to your reports or buy your reccommended stock purchases.

Hi KJ, thanks for the comment. I'm the guy who wrote the article, so I figured I should provide a couple of quick responses.

    - I don't own any of the stocks mentioned in the article. The disclosure is easy to miss, but it's underneath the grey box at the end of the article. In it we disclose the author's holdings as well as any that our investment newsletter services have recommended.

    - By the way if you are interested in all of my holdings, you can find them listed on my profile page:

    http://boards.fool.com/Profile.asp?uid=53357

    - Just to be clear, the headline refers to the closing segment of our podcast, during which each one of the 3 analysts mentions a stock on his radar. Regular listeners of "Motley Fool Money" know that this definitely does NOT translate into a stock recommendation or "three stocks you must own". In some cases a stock is on our radar for bad reasons, not good.

Hope that provides a bit more context. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post a follow-up note or drop me a note at chill@fool.com

    Chris,

I’m sure your statement to KJ is 100% accurate but can you blame him for questioning it? These reports from companies such as yours have manipulated the markets before and will continue to do so for years to come. If you’d like for the reading public to trust your recommendations how about disclosing if anyone in the organization to which you right owns the stock you're writing about? How disclosing if you are affiliated with others who might benefit from such statements? I'm all for freedom of press and I’m sure your writing intentions on the speculation of investing into certain stocks are honorable but us regular folks in the investing public have been taken for quite a ride over the last 2 years. We as the American Investing Public need to belief in what we hear on the news and read in our publications once again before we can truly experience a bull market again..

To think that every recommendation has a sinister motive strikes me as going from due diligence to cynical. I only bought one of the MF recommended picks - but made a great deal of money from that transaction.

TMF ALWAYS Reccomends that you do your OWN due diligence before investing in any stock. Doing otherwise is just guessing. Fool On!

Your picks should be VRNM, and SYNM. Both these companies are on the verge of huge break-outs!

The biggest issue I have with MF is the constant marketing of services, collectively which far exceed the average investor ability to subscribe. Having been a member of the Hidden Gems and a former member of the Million Dollar Portfolio, I realize you look at information provided as a mere starting point. It is your due diligence from that point on...gotta say, Buffalo Wild Wings, Stabucks, Sonic and several mutual funds have done well the last 18 months, and I expect the same from JLL. I also like TD Ameritrade for all the info available there, I feel more comfortable with that than a commissioned broker...
