Harley is toast. Buell was their future product for Gen Y. Now they just sell too heavy and cumbersome bikes for baby boomers. Wall Street is too focused on short term profits and is ignoring the warning signs of another GM. We HD closed Buell they eat their young.

FlyingKnignt...I actually had a lot of respect for what Buell was doing (or trying to do), but do you have any research information to back up your assertion?

Here's a surprising fact for you: Buell street bike riders average age is typically over 38 years old. Their adventure bike riders (Ulysses models) are typically over 45 years of age. GEN Y? Are you kidding me? Only since last year did Buell start producing a bike that actually targeted 35 and under (the liquid-cooled 1125R). One problem, though...it was priced at $13,000 (in other words: twice as much as the competition) and they couldn't sell any!

One more fact: Buell wasn't profitable. Who cares if you attract "Gen Y" to a motorcycle if you lose money doing it? Additionally, sportbike riders don't "graduate" to heavy cruisers. You either love riding sportbikes or you don't.
