Apple's New Record

On today's MarketFoolery podcast, we discuss Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL  ) breaking its own one-day sales record with preorders for the new iPhone 4S topping the 1 million mark. Listen now as Jeff Fischer, Joe Magyer, and Jason Moser discuss everything from the forthcoming tablet from Motorola Mobility Holdings (NYSE: MMI  ) to the role AT&T (NYSE: T  ) , Verizon (NYSE: VZ  ) , and Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S  ) play in Apple's success.

What does "preorders for the new iPhone 4S topping the 1 million mark" mean? Topping???

Does that mean 1,000,001, or 1.2 million, or 1.4 million? This is pretty vague language. Apple could have given us a more precise number. When the iPhone 4 was launched, the company said that launch sales were 600,000... That's a hard number.
