Stepan Earnings Preview

Investors braced for a bumpy ride ahead of Stepan's (NYSE: SCL  ) earnings announcement as the company has wavered between beating and falling short of analyst predictions during the past fiscal year. The company will unveil its latest earnings on Wednesday. Stepan is engaged in the production and sale of specialty and intermediate chemicals that are sold to other manufacturers for use in a variety of end products.

  • Revenue forecasts: On average, analysts predict $425.5 million in revenue this quarter. That would represent a rise of 16% from the year-ago quarter.
  • Wall Street earnings expectations: The average analyst estimate is earnings of $1.96 per share. Estimates range from $1.78 to $2.13.
