Netflix: Finally, Hope on the Horizon

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which Motley Fool senior technology analyst Eric Bleeker and chief technology officer Jeremy Phillips discuss emerging trends in technology.

In today's edition, Jeremy and Eric look at Netflix's recent content deals. After a summer filled with setbacks, Netflix is countering by bolstering its streaming library with new content deals. But will that be enough to offset the PR nightmares the company created in recent months?

Thanks to sites like Netflix that are increasingly making the Internet the pathway for consuming media, Internet traffic is growing at a level where it's expected to quadruple by 2015! The Motley Fool has compiled a new report called "The Motley Fool's Top Stock for 2011," which highlights a company that's set to profit handsomely from the booming amounts of data flowing across the Internet, no matter which company delivers the video. The Steve Jobs Betrayal
You may already know that in the final year of his life, Jobs revealed a stunning betrayal — and told his biographer, "I will spend my last dying breath... and every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank to right this wrong." What was it that made Jobs so irate — and why could it make a few in-the-know investors some major profits over the coming months and years?

At $8- per month the streaming content from Netflix is a bargain , but the concern here since they began signing a bunch of new deals is not about will they have content making them a worth while destination but rather can the streaming division get back in the black given rising costs.

Stupid idea - rather than a short text blurb, send out a video of a couple of talking heads. What a wast of banwidth. Video adds NOTHING to this pseduo-"story" except the time it takes to find out what its about (and ignore it).

While I won't be as blunt as RunAmokTech, I'll also chime in and say that I'm disappointed when I click on a link to a story and find that it's a "Motley Fool Conversation". I can understand the desire to provide analysis in various formats and everyone has a personal preference, but I find the videos a very slow (slower than reading), inefficient, inconvenient (if I'm at a computer in public without headphones) way to try to learn something.
