This Start-Up Expert Is Bearish on Sirius XM

The following video is part of our nationally syndicated Motley Fool Money radio show, in which host Chris Hill and advisors Ron Gross, James Early, and Seth Jayson discuss the week's business and investing news. This week's guest is Paul Holland, venture capitalist co-executive producer of Something Ventured, a documentary film about the start of the venture capital movement. In this audio clip, he explains why shares his thoughts on the prospects for an Apple TV set. He also discusses why he believes Sirius XM, a service he subscribes to, is under threat from rivals like Pandora.

Apple is also featured in The Motley Fool's latest report,"3 Hidden Winners of the iPhone, iPad and Android Revolution," which highlights three companies that are poised to cash in on the booming smartphone and tablet trend in the U.S. You can get instant access to these companies by clicking here – it's free.

The Steve Jobs Betrayal
You may already know that in the final year of his life, Jobs revealed a stunning betrayal — and told his biographer, "I will spend my last dying breath... and every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank to right this wrong." What was it that made Jobs so irate — and why could it make a few in-the-know investors some major profits over the coming months and years?

I do not think that you understand the Sirus Market. Sirus has 21 Million PAYING subscribers that LOVE Sirus and do not think that $15 is much to pay. Pandora is a Free service that is listened by people (mostly Children) that don't want to pay for a service. Sirus is growing, they had $500 Million free cash flow last year and expect to have $850 this year. Sirus has a great selection of Music, sports, new & Talk. Just because Pandora & Sirus both play music, they attract 2 different subscribers. In a terrible economy Sirus has grown. When the Economy comes back the subscriber base will really grow. Just my thoughts.

I have held sirius thru the 6 cents days, every couple months someone warns against Pandora. You have go to be kidding me. Sirius is for people who can afford a car, not for college students

    Buzz,

If sirius is for people who can only afford a car, then the cell phone industry is in big trouble. Not to mention all the churn they must have from that youth market.

"He explains why shares his thoughts on the prospects for an Apple TV set". are you kidding me! At least put a little effort in ,so that you do not sound like a complete moron, throwing something out there just to earn a buck on 'clicks'!

Guess you were running late for a game or something? Sirius is here to stay and has NO competition when it comes to listening to the following over the 'radio': Stern, Live football, baseball and soccer, Live financial info, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Comedy Channels etc. etc. Oh! and by the way Sirius also has music stations as well......Pandora! well, let me see, SatRad 2.0 takes care of that little bit of competition!

Sirius for Professionals, Pandora for the homeless!

This guy IMHO doesn't know what he is talking about. "999 all you can eat?" How is this going to be delivered without something reliable like satellite? Also, can these other companies afford multiple content costs? Think outside the box man!

I will give The Motley Fool credit for allowing a chance for a rebuttal to the audio interview, unlike some goat/hero guy.

Oh, and probably the most overlooked information is that SiriusXM doesn't live and die by "radio" what the satellites are capable of: All kinds of content delivery, government uses, oh I almost forgot the badwidth spectrum is pretty much priceless. Yea Spotify and Pandora competition- who are you kidding?
