The World's Best Brands

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which industrials editor/analyst Brendan Byrnes and consumer goods editor/analyst Austin Smith discuss topics across the investing world.

In this series, Brendan and Austin take a look at the world's most valuable brands in 2011 according to Interbrand. Today, they discuss the No. 11 through 15 most valuable brands in the world. Which companies on this list surprised them, and what does it mean for investors?

Nokia surprised us by making the list for most valuable brands, but we've picked out a company that we think will surprise you for its tremendous growth in the future. This stock has so much promise we’ve dubbed it: The Motley Fool's Top Stock for 2012. In it, you'll see which retailers are able to consistently outperform and how two cash kings are planning to ride the waves of retail's changing tide. You can access it by clicking here.

The Steve Jobs Betrayal
You may already know that in the final year of his life, Jobs revealed a stunning betrayal — and told his biographer, "I will spend my last dying breath... and every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank to right this wrong." What was it that made Jobs so irate — and why could it make a few in-the-know investors some major profits over the coming months and years?

Enter your email address below to find out what made Jobs so enraged!

Guys, WRT Nokia, get your heads out of North America and look at the rest of the world! Nokia is the #1 brand of cellphones in the world. Not "smartphones", but regular ol' cellphones, which is what most of the rest of the world has. A friend of mine from India mentioned to me a while ago that everyone he knows back in India, pretty much, has a Nokia cell phone. So, it's not surprising that their brand is still strong. Whether it'll stay strong is yet to be seen...
