Better Buy: Toyota vs. Microsoft

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which industrials editor/analyst Brendan Byrnes and technology editor/analyst Andrew Tonner discuss topics across the investing world.

In today's edition, Brendan and Andrew continue their series, Better Buy Now. Today, Brendan gives his opinion on Toyota, which is expecting a record 2012, while Andrew goes in-depth on tech stalwart Microsoft. Which company will win this battle?

Brendan and Andrew may not be particularly bullish on either Microsoft or Toyota, but we've come across a different stock that has us so excited we can hardly contain our investing enthusiasm. This pick has so much promise that we've dubbed it: "The Motley Fool's Top Stock for 2012." We've created a special free report for investors to uncover this soon-to-be rock star. The Steve Jobs Betrayal
You may already know that in the final year of his life, Jobs revealed a stunning betrayal — and told his biographer, "I will spend my last dying breath... and every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank to right this wrong." What was it that made Jobs so irate — and why could it make a few in-the-know investors some major profits over the coming months and years?

Ford is a better buy than Toyota: Better growth possibilities, and did I hear you say that Toyota's dividend now is around 1.6%? And Ford's just re-starting it's dividend at (by my calculations) 1.55% at today's closing price? Yeah, Ford over Toyota...

Intel is a better buy than Microsoft because of the piracy issue in emerging markets. However, having said that, I still think Microsoft is a very good buy considering its current valuation, dividend, cash on balance sheet, cash-generation capability, and potential with upcoming products such as Windows 8, which will be very important for the mobile space, both tablets and smartphones, not to mention Ultrabooks. So, if you've only got so much cash, I'd buy Intel, but I wouldn't "wait on the sidelines", as Andrew put it, for very much longer with MSFT...

    That's just my opinion, though...

    Fool on!... :-)
