Apple and Google absolutely own the U.S. smartphone market, commanding well over two-thirds of the American market share between the two companies. However, software titan Microsoft clearly wants to make its presence felt in this increasingly important aspect of consumer technology. In conjunction with its partnership with Finnish handset maker Nokia, the company announced its plans to roll out its Lumia 900 smartphone to the U.S. at an extremely aggressive pricing point.
