The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which advisor Charly Travers and analyst Jason Moser discuss topics across the investing world.
Verizon is changing its tune toward Microsoft Windows phones. The carrier has ignored Windows phones in favor of Android handsets and the iPhone, but it just announced that it believes that a third ecosystem is important and that it fully supports Microsoft. At issue is an attempt by the carrier to shift the balance of power from Apple back into its hands in order to reduce the impact of expensive iPhone subsidies.
Charly expects that when Windows 8 phones roll out later this year, investors will see the same promotion out of Verizon that it is currently receiving from AT&T.
