The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which industrials editor/analyst Brendan Byrnes and technology and media editor/analyst Andrew Tonner discuss topics across the investing world.

In today's edition, Brendan and Andrew discuss Tesla's recent earnings release, which helped push the stock up significantly. Despite the company missing analyst estimates, investors were impressed after it moved up the release date for its much-anticipated Model S sedan from July to June. Considering around 90% of Tesla's revenue this year is expected to come from the Model S, getting the sedan delivered on time is huge for the company. Still, the Model S is the only vehicle that Tesla is currently selling in North America, and being an electric vehicle manufacturer certainly makes it a riskier bet than the other major automakers. But is Brendan willing to take that risk for the potential of higher returns, or does he think there are better opportunities in this space? Watch to find out.
