A Turnaround Story in Transportation?

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which industrials editor/analyst Isaac Pino and research analyst Lyons George discuss topics from across the investing world.

A renaissance in the electric vehicle market cannot take place without the appropriate infrastructure. The big automakers realize this, the upstart car maker Tesla realizes this, and even consumers know this all too well. The industry has a term for car drivers who can't get comfortable with limited fueling stations -- it's called "range anxiety." However, what if a lesser-known transportation company solved this problem, and at the same time revolutionized all types of electric vehicles? Well, that's exactly what Bombardier aims to do with its Primove technology. Primove could power everything from light rail to electric cars, all without a single connection to the vehicle itself. The project emerged in order to create a system for charging trams without overheard wires, but could evolve into much broader applications. Click on the video below for an overview of this cutting-edge technology.

Age-old manufacturing companies rarely witness the revolutionary advancements we've seen in recent years. Natural gas, electrical distribution, and other technological forces are changing the landscape. Uncover the companies driving the "third Industrial Revolution" in our special free report: "The Future Is Made in America."
