Is It Time for Nokia's Obituary?

The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which analyst John Reeves and advisor David Meier discuss topics around the investing world.

The website PandoDaily reaffirmed something recently that we already know: Nokia is in a death spiral. The author puts forth a very good argument that software is what's killing the company. The Lumia phone is a beauty, and the deal with Microsoft attempts to differentiate it from all of the other phones using Google's Android OS. The problem is, the phones aren't selling. Operating cash flow has declined considerably over the past 12 months as well. And it's about the get worse. John and David still believe that the company to buy in this space is Apple. And that's because the very thing that's killing Nokia is helping Apple: software. Apple not only has great devices, but great content as well. That's a powerful combination. And the stock is very attractive today.

Big tech names might gather a lot of investor attention, but the truth is that they're playing second fiddle to an even larger revolution in technology. To better prepare investors for this new revolution, The Motley Fool has just released a free report on mobile named "The Next Trillion-Dollar Revolution" that details a hidden component play inside mobile phones that also is a leader in the exploding Chinese market. Inside the report, we not only describe why the mobile revolution will dwarf any other technology revolution seen before it, but we also name the company at the forefront of the trend. Hundreds of thousands have requested access to previous reports, and you can access this new report today by clicking here -- it's free.

You all aren't in the loop. When Windows 8 comes out, things will without a doubt pick up.

Nokia is not in danger of going into a "death spiral". Windows 8 is getting broad support from TONS of companies.
