I don't understand this trashing of ALSK by The Motley Fool. Yes, this is a company that has slashed its dividend by 75% during the year, but it did so to build a better financial base to operate from, and is on the road of doing so. The state of Alaska is unusual compared to the lower 48, because of geographical size and isolation. ALSK is better suited to serve the market, than for instance Verizon because of its established presence.
Yes, I do hold shares of ALSK, but unlike others who won't tell you they are shorting the stock, I will tell you about my position in ALSK.
