The big news in the space across the past week had Baidu taking another run at creating a relevant mobile browser after its first attempts failed to gain traction. Then we had Baidu's new search nemesis, Qihoo, seeing Huawei end a recent partnership to create customized smartphones for the company. 

China's mobile Internet is taking off at unheard-of growth rates, and the battle for key technologies such as mobile browsers is far from over. Yet with the likes of Xiaomi already seeing huge sales and holding Apple-like release events for its own lower-priced phones, don't expect Qihoo to make much of a dent in the space.
