Honda Motor (HMC -0.35%) announced Saturday that it is recalling 489,000 CR-V SUVs worldwide, including 268,000 in the U.S. The company has determined that the power window switches for model years 2002-2006 could cause electrical fires if exposed to water or other fluids.

No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue, according to the compnay, but four switch fires have been reported. Honda UK recalled 170,000 Jazz models in 2010 for the same issue.

In the past month, Honda has announced the recall of approximately 1.3 million Accords, Civics, and Pilots for potential fluid leaks and headlight wiring issues.

The company's annual report notes that strong CR-V sales in North America helped to offset a slump in domestic (Japanese) auto sales.

As of this writing, the company's stock is down approximately -0.4%.
