The following video is part of our "Motley Fool Conversations" series, in which analyst John Reeves and advisor David Meier discuss topics around the investing world.
The PC era continues to draw to a close. That's creating opportunities elsewhere. In fact, John and David believe they have an opportunity that investors won't want to miss.
PC sales have leveled off and have started to contract. That's having an impact on all sorts of companies. PC makers, such as Hewlett-Packard and Dell, are struggling. Chipmakers Intel and Advanced Micro Devices are starting to feel the pinch, as are hard-disk makers Seagate and Western Digital. But companies such as Qualcomm and Apple have benefited from the change to mobile computing. As more computing moves to the cloud and goes through mobile devices, Fusion-io stands to benefit. The company sells solid-state memory products that enable servers to work more efficiently. The increasing demand for more and more data is a trend squarely in Fusion-io's favor, making it an opportunity investors won't want to miss.
The mobile revolution is still in its infancy, but with so many different companies out there, it's not easy to know how to play this space. Fortunately, the Motley Fool has just released a free report on mobile named "The Next Trillion-Dollar Revolution." Inside the report, we analyze a company at the forefront of the trend.
