Should You Cheer the Leadership at Goldman Sachs?

In this video, Matt Koppenheffer looks at Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein. Overall, Matt gives Blankfein a thumbs up for his leadership of the company during the recent financial crisis. Goldman stayed profitable through most of that time, and Blankfein was a big part of that. However, Blankfein has episodes of "foot in mouth" disease and his occasional verbal faux pax can tarnish Goldman's reputation. On balance, Blankfein has been an asset for Goldman. 

During the financial crisis, Goldman Sachs did so well pivoting to avoid the worst of the fallout that it had to downplay its success to duck public ire and conspiracy theories. Today, Goldman is still arguably the powerhouse global financial name, and yet its stock trades at a valuation of less than half what it fetched prior to the crisis.
