Activision Blizzard Outruns Estimates Again

Activision Blizzard (Nasdaq: ATVI  ) reported earnings on May 8. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.17. The 22 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.11 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.17 for Q1 were 183% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.06 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.40 for Q1 were 18% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.34 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 68.6%, 120 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 44.3%, 50 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 34.4%, 160 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
