With Google (GOOGL 1.28%) announcing that it would begin offering paid subscriptions to unique channels for an average price of $2.99 per channel per month, the entertainment business just got more interesting. The service is clearly designed to take on the likes of Netflix (NFLX 4.21%) and Amazon Prime, but with the channel model, Comcast (CMCSA 0.10%) and DIRECTV (DTV.DL) might see competition as well.
