Cabela's (CAB), the mega-outdoor store operator, is getting even more mega this week.
On Wednesday, Cabela's announced plans to open three new stores in Cheektowaga, N.Y., Lubbock, Texas, and Berlin, Mass. The first two stores will open next year, with the Berlin store to follow in 2015.
Both the Cheektowaga and Berlin locations will be in Cabela's full-size 88,000-square foot format. The Lubbock location will be a smaller, 42,000-square foot Cabela's Outpost model, designed to serve markets of fewer than 250,000 potential customers.
The three new planned locations raise the number of new stores Cabela's plans to open over the next two years to 16. Once opened, the company will have 60 locations operating.
