BlackBerry Credibility Takes Another Hit

BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY  ) messenger service boasts 60 million users, and it may be one of the best things the smartphone maker still has going for it. A recent tweet suggested that on June 27, BBM service will become available on both Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL  ) iOS and Google's (NASDAQ: GOOGL  ) Android as a free app. But whether the report was the result of an over-eager tweeter or more mismanagement by the company, fans have been once again disappointed, prompting the question of whether BlackBerry can regain control of its own fate.

In the following video, Fool.com contributor Doug Ehrman discusses the original story and how it may affect the future of the once-dominant smartphone maker.

While BlackBerry may be fading, the tech sector is ablaze with competition. It's incredible to think just how much of our digital and technological lives are almost entirely shaped and molded by just a handful of companies. Find out "Who Will Win the War Between the 5 Biggest Tech Stocks" in The Motley Fool's latest free report, which details the knock-down, drag-out battle being waged among the five kings of tech. Speaking of credibility you Foolish boneheads, don't you watch the news?? Seems the NSA/Prism scandal that Obama is involved in because well, he created it, has engulfed Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and of course Apple because they are all Obama fanatics and would gladlY with a capital Y on the end, hand over all your phone calls. Why? Simple, they are all American companies and have contributed mightily to Obama's campaign.

The Cold Case Posse has irrefutably proven that the birth certificate and draft card are phonies and that EVERY Obama document is problematic. Obama has hidden EVERY school record, except of course for the Columbia school ID which clearly states on the front of it: Foreign Student. He was either lying when he applied to Punahou, Columbia, Occidental and Harvard or he's lying now. YOU DECIDE.

Obama sr. was a bigamist who impregnated a 17 year-old girl, that's right, a girl, and there's a name for that. Both his parents were Communists and Obama Sr. was deported. Do you think that he isn't trying to destroy America and is recording EVERY phone call and EVERY email message? Don't you people at the Fool know about the millon square foot NSA building they are constructing out in Arizona? What fo you think it's for?

You say Blackberry has lost credibility? They haven't, but the Fool has. You people have an agenda and it involves bashing Blackberry, a Canadian company. you people at the Fool are a despicable bunch.

Way too obvious Doug is short on the stock and using his position at a contributor to try and influence public opinion on the BBRY.

If anyone is fool enough to listen to this complete rubbish and go short - then they deserve to loose a lot of money.

But - Motley Fool and Doug - you should be ashamed of yourself for using your position to manipulate stocks.

    You sir,

Doug Ehrman, have lost credibility. Not BB.

2012 has called and wants that video back.. you sound so old fashioned! You need to get hip-- to the groundswell of public, private, consumer, and world corporate support for this futuristic, robust and deep O/S... Instead of grasping at straws and sticking your finger in the hole of a crumbling dam, why not get out of the way? Bite the bullet, cover your shorts, and go long. While you still have time.. At what point do you have to realize your thesis to be outdated, obsolete, and wrong?

Just because a rumour gets started by a carrier does not mean BB is misfiring.. As rumours drop about Apple and Google, until those corporations announce an update, why would that be a hit to their credibility? As has been said by BB, it is coming this summer. That means the window is between first day of summer June 21st and last day of summer Sept 22... Why would you be jumping the gun and claim a credibility issue when we havent even hit the first day of summer?> Talk about strw-grasping? Maybe BB will give you a present and release it on the first day of summer would that suffice for you? Especially if as you say you 'like' BB? This video begs the question: Could you or someone you know have a short position in BB? As all the commentors here have clearly and expertly brought you up to speed, ( but you knew this stuff anyways lets admit, that I won't tell anyone ) --you should know this whole video effort/production was totally transparent-- desperation is rising and the last BB Basher commenter before 6-28 will hold the hot potatoe and get the most ridicule.. If you stop now it won't be you.. try and lose that race. Let's see whose next Batter up!! Where's Pac-crest Comon ally ally all set free! Will feel no pity for the last transparent, manipulative reporter on the week of 6-28...

Actually if you take this videos last few words ( if you do invest, only put in a fringe and high risk quotient of your portfolio, and not one your 'core' investments, and actually do the exact binary opposite, I think by 2015 a lot of people will be remembering this forever n ever on you-tube video and comment on that fateful statement..Wall street cannot control the Media dialogue outside America.. 650 carriers in tens of thousands of stores worldwide means BB will shock you sir.. 6-28, 9-28, 1-28.... on. and on. and on. When we move into YE 2015, 2016 and BB continues to gain traction how will you respond to these archived videos?

You have staked you claim, now future history will either confirm you or mock and repudiate you. Will be nice to watch it unfold eh?

MOTLEY FOOL CREDIBILITY TAKES ANOTHER HIT

Shorts are fried. And no amount of Motley Fool propaganda is going to change that. It is only serving to trash what shreds of credibility MF has left.

There is a reason they refer ton themselves as the "Motley Fool." As I recall, shortly before the "dot com" bubble burst and many of the "dot com" stocks became almost worthless, the fellows who ran Motley Fool insisted that the "dot com" stocks were still a good investment. Have they yet to learn anything? Reader's have no idea what motivates the positions of the contributors. Beware.

Thank you for the good laugh, it was so refreshing to see the MF make up such a clown show.

So let me get it straight, what you are trying to say is if a third party sends a tweet with a false release date that is later denied by Blackberry means Blackberry disappoints you and suffers a blow to it's credibility. Your kidding right, or are you really that stupid? Or more important do you think really think the people who read this dribble are even more stupid than you?

Are you so stupid that you think people believe what you say?

I am still laughing at this goof ball show.

    5. But the biggest and most glaring breakdown in this poker game is when he hits his thesis punchline and raison d' etre, .. his main point here is to confirm and convince the retails that BlackBerry is suspect when he makes his strongest statement, ' future looks grim', followed by 4 tells, a pause, a blink, shake of the head, and then a swallow...so transparent n' et pas?
