CSX (CSX 0.67%) is keeping its speed level as it rumbles down the rails, at least as far as its dividend is concerned. The company has declared a fresh distribution of $0.15 per share of its common stock, to be dispensed on Sept. 13 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 30. That amount matches the company's previous payout, which was distributed last month. Before that, CSX paid $0.14 per share.

Since splitting its stock 3-for-1 at the end of May 2011, the company's distribution has ranged from $0.12 per share to the current level.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $0.60 per share. That yields 2.5% at CSX's most recent closing stock price of $23.91.
