CenturyLink (NYSE:CTL) is transmitting another payout to its investors. The company has declared its latest dividend, which is to be $0.54 per share paid on Sept. 19 to shareholders of record as of Sept. 6. That amount matches both of the company's two previous distributions, the most recent of which was paid in mid-June. Before that, CenturyLink was more generous, dispensing $0.725 per share.

The company has been a steady and consistent dividend payer since 1990. Over the past decade, its distribution has ranged from $0.055 to $0.725 per share.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $2.16 per share. That yields 6.6% at CenturyLink's most recent closing stock price of $32.94.
