Heading into Apple's (AAPL -0.10%) iPhone event on Tuesday, numerous reports have surfaced that the company is finally going to partner with China Mobile (CHL) and NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM). Those two carriers are the largest in their respective markets and have a combined subscriber base of more than 800 million users.

Those deals would significantly expand Apple's addressable market virtually overnight, and there is undoubtedly pent-up demand on those networks. The biggest unknown is where the iPhone 5C will price, and there have been studies as to where Apple will see the most success. The iPhone 5C price point is critical to its prospects in emerging markets.
