Boeing Wins $212 Million in Contracts for Poseidon, Harrier, and Other Work

The Department of Defense on Wednesday issued 18 contracts worth a total of $870 million. Boeing (NYSE: BA  )  reaped 17% of the contracts, and nearly a quarter of the money on offer. In order of value awarded, Boeing won:

  • $172.3 million: A contract modification to pay for services to be performed on 13 low-rate initial production Lot IV P-8A Poseidon sub-hunting aircraft. Boeing will perform integrated logistics support and supply spare parts, support equipment, and technical publication updates to accommodate change proposals and changes to the aircraft design demanded by its customers -- primarily the U.S. Navy, but including certain foreign government buyers. This work is expected to be completed in April 2017.
  • $23.6 million: A different contract modification, to supply eight instrumentation wafer components and support for those components. This contract has an expected completion date of April 30, 2016.
  • $16.5 million: A delivery order under a previously issued performance-based logistics contract to repair various parts on an unspecified number of AV-8 Harrier jump jets for the U.S. Marine Corps. These repairs should be completed by Sept. 30, 2015.
