The Department of Defense announced 64 separate contract awards worth $3.51 billion on Wednesday. Of these, defense contractor Boeing (BA -0.76%) won four, specifically:
- A $57.4 million delivery order under a previously awarded performance based logistics contract to supply various parts needed to maintain and repair AV-8 Harrier jumpjets for the Navy. Deliveries should be complete by Sept. 30, 2014;
- a $41.8 million cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order to perform non-recurring engineering, fabrication, inspection, and testing work on 10 pre-production Operational Test Program Sets to be used on EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft. This contract runs through August 2018;
- a $9.7 million contract modification to supply an additional 100 composite horizontal stabilators (helicopter parts) and one tool string needed for same to the U.S. Army; and finally
- a $9.7 million cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order to provide "supplies and services" needed to assess and dispose of non-avionics systems on the T-45 Subsystems Service Life Assessment Program to ensure the planes (T-45 Goshawk training jets) remain operational through their anticipated life expectancy of 2035. This work should be completed by July 2016.
