As the "first Avenger" and bridge to the TV world of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America has emerged as the most important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fool contributor Tim Beyers says in the following video.

According to ComicBook.com, Agents will tease a version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. that's at the centerpiece of next spring's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is based on an Eisner-winning comic-book storyline from writer Ed Brubaker and artist Steve Epting.

Tim says the crossover comes at an important time for Walt Disney (DIS -0.45%), which has invested heavily to make Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. a foundational property for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Teasing Winter Soldier in the show could help ratings and boost excitement for the film, which, in turn, should tee up the return of the Avengers in 2015.

How big a catalyst will Cap be for Disney stock investors? Tim addresses this question and more in the video. Please watch now and leave a comment to let us know where you stand.
