But this year several retailers tried to jump-start sales by opening their doors earlier than ever; Macy's (NYSE: M ) , J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP ) , and Kohl's all opened at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, while Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT ) opened at 6 p.m. But will these early openings be enough to boost these companies' bottom lines?
