The Department of Defense announced 37 new defense contracts worth a combined $1.82 billion on Wednesday. Among the publicly traded companies winning contracts:
- General Dynamics (GD 0.65%) won one of the larger awards of the day, a $107.3 million contract modification to supply the U.S. Army with 1500 Manpack radio kits and 500 dismount kits by Jan. 30, 2015.
- Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH 1.59%) won a $49.9 million cost-plus-fixed-fee indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the "dematerialization-centric intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance effort" to perform analyses, assessments, studies, and operational exercises of technologies and systems for the Army. This work will continue through Dec. 18, 2016.
- Teledyne (TDY 1.23%) won a $49.2 million firm-fixed-price requirements contract for the repair of 1,600 10 KT traveling wave tubes for AN-SPY-1 radar systems incorporated into AEGIS weapons systems. This contract will run through Dec. 31, 2020.
- Exelis (NYSE: XLS) subsidiary EDO Corp won a $39 million firm-fixed-price contract to supply 450 BRU-55A/A bomb racks to the U.S. Navy by November 2016.
- And L-3 Communications (LLL) was awarded a $25.9 million contract modification calling upon it to supply 40,842 M734A1 and 99,791 M783 mortar fuses to the U.S. Army by Oct. 31, 2015.
