Boeing (BA -0.24%) released its latest report on airplane orders received -- and canceled -- through the first six weeks of 2014 on Thursday. For the second week in a row, the report showed that Boeing has made no new sales -- not one plane sold so far in the month of February.
To date, the aerospace giant has booked:
- 33 "gross" orders for various flavors of its 737 regional airliner
- four orders for the 777 airliner
- and a single order for a 787 Dreamliner.
After subtracting the three 737 order cancellations reported on previously, this leaves Boeing with a total of 35 net orders booked year-to-date.
Despite the disappointing lack of change to Boeing's order book, however, new orders are on the way. Yesterday, the company confirmed that at the ongoing Singapore Airshow it signed a commitment from Bangkok's Nok Air to order eight Next-Generation 737-800s and seven 737 MAX 8s.
If the order is ultimately completed, it will double the size of Nok's Boeing fleet -- currently comprising 14 Boeing Next-Generation 737s. It will also mean $1.45 billion in new sales for Boeing, at list prices, which customers don't always pay.
