In its latest update on sales of stun guns and related items, TASER International (AXON -1.16%) reported Wednesday that it has booked 3,279 new orders. These orders either already shipped in the company's first fiscal quarter of 2014, or are expected now, in the current second fiscal quarter. Specifically, TASER has sold:

  • 2,000 TASER X26 Smart Weapons to the Policia de Puerto Rico, and 500 more to the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • 150 TASER X26P Smart Weapons to the Saint John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana, 125 to the Milwaukee County House of Correction in Wisconsin, 110 to the Danbury Police Department in Connecticut, 109 to the Alexandria Police Department in Virginia, and 90 to an unidentified international customer.
  • 75 TASER X2 Smart Weapons to the Wichita Police Department in Kansas, and 70 more to the Chesapeake Police Academy in Virginia.
  • 50 X2s, plus TASER Cam HD recorders, to the Atlanta Department of Corrections in Georgia.

Additional sales of various TASER weapon models -- and, based on the company's past reporting practices, presumably orders of less than 20 units each, as orders of fewer than 20 are generally not listed in the company press releases -- and/or sales of TASER Cam HD recorders and/or subscriptions to the company's TASER Assurance warranty and upgrades plan were booked to law-enforcement customers in 24 states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

TASER did not disclose financial details on any of these sales, but at advertised list prices (for those products for which prices are listed), their value would appear to add at least $2.8 million to TASER's revenue stream.
