Gas Prices Up $0.03 to $3.683

Gas prices are up this week, according to an Energy Information Administration report (link opens as PDF) released Monday.

Retail regular gasoline prices clocked in at a national average of $3.683 per gallon for April 21, $0.032 above last week's price tag. While Rocky Mountain region prices edged up just $0.008, East Coast residents saw a steep $0.053 increase in gas prices.

Compared to a year ago, pump prices are up $0.147.

For the same period, average retail diesel prices increased a smaller $0.019 for a national average of $3.971 per gallon. For diesel, the East Coast got away with a slight $0.002 increase, while West Coast per gallon prices jumped $0.049.

At these latest prices, the West Coast pays the prettiest penny for gasoline ($4.027), while the East Coast dishes out $4.070 for diesel. On the other end, the Rocky Mountain can guzzle gas for just $3.446 as the Gulf Coast downs diesel for $3.820 per gallon.
