The Department of Defense awarded 11 defense contracts in its Wednesday evening announcement of contract awards. The total value of contracts awarded was $338.6 million. Among the publicly traded companies winning contracts:
- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) was awarded an $83.4 million contract modification paying for full-rate production Lot III advanced anti-radiation guided missiles. These funds will cover the conversion of 110 AGM-88B High-speed Anti-Radiation Missiles to the AGM-88E all-up-round configuration, and also to captive air training missiles. Work under this contract should be complete by December 2016.
- Northrop Grumman (NOC 2.84%) won a $40.7 million firm-fixed-price multiyear contract to supply the U.S. Army with up to 94 Small Tactical Radar-Lightweight, or STARLite, Synthetic Aperture Radar/Ground Moving Target Indicator systems through April 22, 2017.
- CDW (CDW 1.13%) was awarded $23 million to supply the U.S. Marine Corps with 19,073 general purpose laptops by March 30, 2015, to be used as part of the Corps' next-generation enterprise network computer refresh.
- URS (NYSE: URS) was awarded a $15.8 million option-year exercise to continue providing program support for the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command's Unmanned Aircraft System Operations Center Support. Support will be provided for the operation of, among other aircraft, the MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper. This contract will now extend through June 30, 2015.
- Raytheon (RTN) was awarded a $12.6 million contract modification funding additional development efforts on the Technology Development Phase of the Next Generation Jammer Program, which will replace the aging ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System used aboard EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft. This contract will now run through February 2016.
