The Department of Defense awarded only seven defense contracts in its Friday evening announcement of contract awards, released after stock markets closed last week. The total value of contracts awarded was $475.6 million. Publicly traded companies winning contracts included:

  • Lockheed Martin (LMT 0.59%), recipient of a $27.4 million firm-fixed-price contract to supply the U.S. Air Force with extended service life center wing boxes for at least five C-130J transport aircraft, with a due date of Dec. 30, 2016.
  • Raytheon (RTN), which won a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to supply the U.S. Navy with up to $14.4 million worth of aircraft radar receivers, circuit card assemblies, electric synthesizers, and electronic components through April 2018.
  • L-3 Communications (LLL), which was awarded an $8.7 million option exercise to provide the U.S. Army with 37,948 hours' worth of systems technical support for the transmissions on Bradley Fighting Vehicles through June 30, 2015.
